the London Academy in Edgware, north-west London.
A promising footballer who played for Queens Park Rangers' youth team,
Kiyan dies from a single stab wound to the chest.
A 16-year-old boy is later arrested over his death.
The accused, who cannot be named because of his age,
is charged with murder and remanded in custody until 12 June.

Special constable Nisha Patel-Nasri, 29,
is stabbed in the leg outside her home in
Sudbury Avenue, Wembley, in north-west London.
Neighbours, who alerted police after they heard
her scream, give her first aid but she is later pronounced
dead in hospital.

Student Tom Grant, 19,
is stabbed to death on a train in Cumbria as he
travels home to Gloucestershire from university.
Mr Grant was studying history and Arabic
at St Andrews University in Fife and planned
to join the Army when he graduated.
His parents Kenny and Patricia later pay tribute
to their "A-grade son" who had "so much to live for".

Paul Erhahon is the sixth youth to die in a knife attack in just a month. His 15-year-old friend is in a critical condition in hospital.
The pair were attacked by a large gang of youths in the entrance of an east London tower block.
Police were called to Crownfield Road in Leytonstone shortly before 8pm on Friday after reports of two teenagers suffering serious injuries.

Adam Regis, 15-year-old nephew of former athlete John Regis,
collapsed at the junction of Boundary Road and Kingsland Road
in Plaistow, east London. He had been stabbed in the chest
and abdomen and died in hospital soon after.
A teenager has been arrested in connection with the death.

Damilola Taylor aged 10 died in November 2000.
He was on his way home from an
after-school computer class. He was found in a
stairwell bleeding from a thigh injury caused by
a broken bottle. His murderers also placed a marble
in his mouth which prevented officers resusitating him.

What a waste!
My heart goes out to all the families and friends of
all the victims of violent crime, be it with a weapon
or not. We as parents have to try and make a difference,
because the government have had their chance and things are now worse than ever!
